Where can I find the font used in the new Robin Hood movie?
I am looking for the awesome font used in the 2010 movie Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe. Anyone know where I can find it? Or is it not released yet or something? And I am looking for a free font. Thanks!
It is similar, but not an exact match, to Trajan, which is bundled on some Adobe software – and is probably the most widely-used font in film posters. Free fonts That You find on the internet are frequently (but not always) either of poor quality or are stolen from existing fonts (sometimes without even bothering to change the name). Somebody has worked for months or years to create a font, somebody else comes along, steals it and posts it on a site for others to steal it (sometimes with a virus attached), so, by downloading a “free” font, you are stealing from somebody who has worked very hard to create it. There are sites, like dafont.com, that try hard to make sure that stolen fonts are not available through their site.
For the film a design will have been developed from an existing font and treated to various 3d bevelling and colouring – so it is unlikely it exists as a complete font just as a file containing the minimum required amount of characters. The R, for example, has an over-extended serif at the top left which would make it unusable for some types of setting.
