Yes, although stored away I have a lovely Portadyne Record Player, blue with gold stars and white with gold stars that I got when I was 10 about 51 years ago. Oh! how I loved it. I can even recall the evening my dad brought it home for me. At that time the red Dansette record players were all the rage and all my friends had there. The evening before my dad had raised the riot act and told me (obviously I had did something bad but I can't remember) in no uncertain terms I would NOT be getting a record player. To this day (he is almost 92) I don't know if his conscience bothered him that he had been too hard on me but next night he came back from work.....on his bike and managed to also bring this wonderful record player. Your question has now made me think I should ask him about that. Whether he'll remember or not I don't know but his mind is still excellent. I also recall the first record I ever got and it was Connie Francis...My Heart Has a Mind of it's Own. Thanks for a lovely memory.
