My grandfather' birthday is coming up and I would like to do something really special for him. He had several bands when he was younger and can no longer play guitar due to arthritis. He has a lot of cassette tapes of his band and he still enjoys listening to them, but they're starting to get pretty old.
Is there any way to do this, aside from playing the songs on a stereo and recording it on the computer? I have a friend who would probably know if there was a way to do this, but he's out of town until Wednesday.

No, sadly I have a pc. My laptop is a Mac but it's not as new so it's a little lacking. I have the software to convert from wav to mp3, I just didn't know how to get it onto the computer.

Unless you can find the songs on line, you have to play them into the computer. The best way is to stop by radio shack or any electronic store and ask for a RCA adaptor so you can plug a cassette player into the computer and use an audio program like audacity to record it to computer. It's easy to use.
Then you save it as a WAV file. You can leave it as a wav file or convert it to an MP3 file. You can fit 10-15 wav files on one CD or over 300 MP3 files.
