What camcorder works well with Final Cut Express 4?
I'm looking to buy an affordable, efficient camcorder to work on a Mac book Pro, Final Cut Express 4. I'd prefer it to be either hard drive or flash drive memory so I won't have to deal with DV tapes and the like, but in the past I've had huge troubles with video importing from a camcorder HDD drive. Any suggestions?
You have sort of answered your own question, as long as your Mac has a firewire port then use mini-dv, best for quality!!! media card and HDD cameras compress data/vide reducing quality (fact) its up to you as you have had problems with other formats then that sort of tells you something, use what works. Any camera that uses compressed video HDD and media card are still in their infancy, they have not been around for that long and every month something new comes out, they change things because they are new.
The other answerer has given you a link to Apple for a list of compatible camcorders, even they may not give 100% troubble free importing.
