Can anyone name this TV series from the mid to late 80's?
It was something we were shown in school and it was on video cassette. There were as I recall two "seasons" of this show and my gut tells me it was a PBS show and possibly Canadian. The only things I can remember about it are that there were aliens plotting to take over and some children found out about the plot and exposed it. The children also had some sort of "headquarters" that was a rundown barn or mechanics shop. I believe there may have been some time travel involved as well.
Time travel wasn't something they did regularly, but somehow the children went back to the era of the Revolutionary War and either brought a boy back to current times or lost a boy back in the past. Also, the alien leader looked a little strange but passed as a regular person in society at large.
HA!! I know what you're talking about. They transported around in time and the transporter looked like a ceiling hung lamp that would be over a pool table. I watched it in school too.
