Could some of you knowledgeable helpful folks out there,help me to convert loads of my taped precious music to digital music,for downloading to my computer,to eventually burn CDs.
I'm fine with handling these devices,but not as smart as some of you folks are.I'll request for a step by step detailed guidence, path description,
software/hardware i would need etc to accomplish my mission.

first you need to see if your computer has a line-in jack (next to the place where the speakers are plugged in, should have the speaker the mic and one more{that is the line-in}) with out this you are dead in the water
once you have everything you might want to test Audacity to make sure the setting are what you want and to learn it. it is easy to pick up.
play the tape player (if you hear it out of you computer speakers you are good to go) if not it could be many thing from setting to hardware.
from hear you can record with Audacity, (hint-mute system sound, and turn off screen-save. it will record all sound made)
