can i take expired multivitamins which has never been opened?
okay, i know its common sense to not take anything when it has reached its expiration date. But, is it okay though when it has never been open yet? its still sealed and everything. and the expiration date says August 2010 and its now October. thoughts?

All vitamin pills have an expiry date. The vitamin content of the tablet may decompose, but it should do no harm to you, however, using them may not be effective and there is also a risk of side effects. This does not happen to all persons using expired tablets. The vitamin E, oils, and fats stored in pills, capsules, or bottles may in fact lose a lot of nutrition in the course of time but may not seriously harm you. Most multi-vitamins will last for years after the expiration date, but there are exceptions. You would be advised not to take any medications/tablets that are past their expiry date.
